Committed to Sustainability

At Hotel Jazz, we care about the wellbeing of our guests and visitors, as well as about protecting the planet. We strive tirelessly to minimize our environmental impact by promoting energy efficiency and offering services aligned with protecting the environment.

We have been awarded the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certification, which accredits our commitment to Biosphere Sustainable Tourism, an initiative run by Turisme de Barcelona, the Chamber of Commerce and Barcelona City Council. We also form part of Barcelona + Sostenible, the network of organizations committed to environmental, social and economic sustainability. Our management model is aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement against Climate Change, through the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism +20.

In our day-to-day operations, we implement measures to reduce our environmental impact and energy consumption. We embrace a paperless philosophy, using the Smart TVs in the rooms to inform our guests. We also promote the responsible use of resources such as water through initiatives like voluntary towel changes. In addition, to ensure a more reasonable use of hygiene products, we provide dispensers in bathrooms, thereby reducing the consumption of single-use units. Sustainable pens are provided only on request, minimizing unnecessary use.

Within the framework of the Programme for Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy Projects, as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU, in application of the Decarbonization Strategy through the electrification of buildings, Hotel Jazz carried out a first phase of energy improvements that made it possible to improve its energy rating from C–C to B–B.

This initiative included the implementation of the following improvements:

• Updating the air-conditioning systems.
• Replacing the natural gas boiler with a system for producing domestic hot water (DHW) using aerothermal energy.
• Renovating the thermal solar panels to support the DHW production system.

Moreover, going a step further than the measures included within the framework of the Next Generation Funds, Hotel Jazz has installed solar panels, an additional improvement that has made it possible to raise the building’s energy rating from B–B to A–A, achieving the highest category of energy efficiency.

Altogether, these measures have also resulted in a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, reinforcing our commitment to energy efficiency and protecting the environment.
